Default SPM1600 Spektrum Voltage Protector

I was recently told by support that I need to get one of these. Does anyone know the specs on this? I figure I can make my own if I know the specs on the capacitor.

Also, does anyone know if radio shack carries Schotkey diodes and if so (and other a different name) what are they called there. We have no hobbyshop in town.
