I had an Academy STR-4 pro for a full season (about my max for keeping a car) and enjoyed it very much. I had no breakage issues. The car was reasonably easy to work on since it was a shaft drive car.
Nothing particularly bad stands out about it, but then again, nothing was really special about it either. The plastic (suspension arms, hubs, etc...) were a little on the soft side, but other than that, there was nothing to complain about.
Parts ordering is what bothers most people about the Academy cars. I don't think they work with any of the major distributors. So when its time to order, you must contact MRC directly. This is an easy process, and not much different that ordering online from a hobbystore.
