Motor Zappers
Having looked around at various website Motor Zappers appear very easy to build does anyone have a set of plans or schematics to build one?
basically they are just an electromagnet wich is childs play to make
building one to re energise motor magnets is only a little bigger, OK a lot bigger
but still not to difficult I think. what im struggling for is the information of how much power to wire it up to and how big the feild coils would have to be?
anyone got any ideas?

If you want to see how ones made then spend 600-1500 (depending on which one you buy) take it apart and make your own.
But if you have no electronic experience there's a good chance you could end up seriously hurt or dead if you do the wrong thing or touch the wrong thing.

A zapper is an electromagnet charged by a capacitor it is regardless of what you may think a simple peice of electrical equipment
that doesnt run high voltage or ampage
physically building one is NOT rocket science
if I could buy one in the UK at a sensible price I would and I would take it apart and replicate it as for blowing youself up !! its not going to happen
who ever heard of anyone being blown up by a magnet(OK care must be taken when handling the capacitor required to power the unit as that could kill)

we all deal with high ampage in our hobby all the time but in the wrong circumstances 20ma can be enough to kill you

I know what a motor zapper is, you don't need to explain it to me.
If you can't work out the calculations, then I would say it's harder to build than you say. It may be physically easier to build, but coming up with the proper design makes it much more complicated project.

I have seen some that dim the lights in the house when zapping a can.
I wouldnt wanna make a wrong move. Seems like it could hurt

Actually 75mA will kill you, or certainly stop your heart
50mA will burn your skin badly
20mA will give you kick back
So if messing around with large caps (400v+) put a bleed resistor on it

I tend to agree with you all. It's not hard to build motor zapper. It's just an electric magnet. The problem is making magnet of the right size, shape and power. If you get any of it wrong it may not work properly. I got lot of relevant hits on Google when searching for "magnet chargers". Experiment, but be careful. Electricity is dangerous, lot of it is very dangerous.
At least make sure you don't have any credit cards in your pocket when zapping motors.

at least not veryone has a downer on people trying stuff for themselvs
also talking to one of our electrical engineers today at work he says
its easy to build and not any where near the $600 dollar mark people are asking
