Ok here's the dealio, since day one that I put my mamba 8k in, sometimes when I hit the throttle, it kinda stalls out like the battery is going dead (stutter forward half inch alot). If I blip the throttle 3-10 times it will finally start moving.

The ESC is sitting right by the motor so I'm pretty sure it's getting noise from the motor, which is probably why it's doing this. Would putting capasitors somewhere fix this problem? And if so, where do I put them on the mamba?

The problem you are experiencing is called "cogging" and, unfortunately, is commonplace with the Mamba system.

To address it you need to look at the following...

- The quality of your battery pack, wiring and connectors. The mamba system will draw 25A or more from a standing start. You need a good pack of cells (GP or IB) and good cabling to supply this. The standard micro battery connectors are not up to the job, nor is the kit battery pack.

- The gear ratio you are using. Try a smaller pinion.

- ESC programming. The most effective is to set the starting power to "high". Using the Castle Link to download and customise the latest version of the firmware gives more control.

If you are still not satisfied with the ESC after trying these, I would contact the dealer you bought the system from for support.

Ok thanks! I do know I need to go to smaller gears anyway because the motor gets hotter than I like. Also, what type of connector do you suggest? deans? I'm using micro connectors right now.

I believe I'm using 60T main & 15T pinion, 6cell United RC Sport 61 battery packs.

I would recommend Deans and a proper GP or IB battery pack.

Yep, this is cogging. Another solution is be sure to update the CC ESC with the lastest software. CC has made many improvements in the ESC software which has helped to reduce the cogging problem.
