Awesome Danny!

I can't wait to run these. Where can I get them from asap?

Why is this being marketed as a new cell, when in the past ib tweaked the 3800's by date codes. Sometimes having better voltage and no better runtime and others having killer runtime and no voltage improvement, and sometimes having improved runtime and voltage. How is this any different from the way the 3800's were done? And why are they or smc marketing them differently than the different batches of 3800's that came out thought out the 05/06 indoor season?

Does SHV mean "super high voltage?" Do you think IB has pretty much sucked every ounce of performance out of their batteries now?

First of all we have nothing to do with the extra SHV sticker on the cell. This is a decision that Intellect has made and I beleive it's to let everyone know that there is an upgrade to the 4200s especially that GP has come out with 4300 shrink wrap.

Yes it stands for super high voltage. I'm pretty sure that the advancements in voltage wil be slowing down as they have gone from 1.17 at this time last year to 1.21+ this year. The Intellect engineers will keep working on the cells trying to make them better but I'm sure there will not be any major tweaks but then again if you would of told me that we would have 1.22s last year I would of laughed at that.

With the great relationship we have with Intellect we have been able to test every tweak they come up with and one thing we noticed is that the material composition of the cells is more important than the numbers it puts out on the testing equipment. Last October they changed one of the materials and the numbers on the matchers were the same but when we put a pack on the track with the new material it was faster. Another thing we have seen on the track is that a cell with higher voltage is not that faster than one with a bit less voltage. I think this is due to all the cells having pretty low IR.

it seem that IB cell is keep on improving the number of the cell are very high 1.22+ with the 35 amp discharge rate. i had talk to Anthony from Intellect company he told me that the SHV version has higher tolerance to overcharging vs standard IB4200 cells. but have to take care about the motor de-solder as SHV can deliver high amps that may make motor fly wire or desoldered.

Hi guys,

As Danny wrote I used them during the LRP Masters. And I was surprised of the numbers on the batteries. But they really deliverd. I had great punch thru out the runs. It's always hard to put word on a feeling but you will notice when you test them that the motor just runs better. I used the 5 Start LRP system so it was very easy to feel the difference also thru out the run. I ran just 1 tenth of my best lap on the last lap having over 900 mAh left ( Much more 10 Amp dishcharge ). Just very happy with the power right now

Today was our first day final cycling the 4200SHVs and our specs will be 425+ , 1.22+ 1.5-1.8 with the majority of the cells being in the 1.225-1.23 range with 1.5-1.6

We expect to be shipping out our first batch on Monday.
