When I modified my plastic, not very neatly by the way they are about even or flush. On the far left and right side the plastic bumper may stick out slightly. The hard bumper takes the hard hits.

ozvena - In addition, I have recently found that Tamiya sells a bumper block of extremely dense foam that you cut to the size and you want. I may try that in the future.

MD, this is all very helpful! Do you have a link to that Tamiya bumper block?

The Tamiya stock number is 53415. You can order it off the Tamiya America website and a lot of over seas sites have it. Here's a picture.

Do these stock plastic diff outdrives break? If yes, then I need some spares to keep around....

I am happy with the stock performance but if I am to get spares, would the aluminum last longer?
http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/piw.p...n&partNo=67724

I see that even the PRO diff is made of plastic, HB calls it space-age plastic and it seems that it is the same as stock, are they made from the same material and as durable as the stock?
http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/piw.p...=67720&lang=en

Thanks!

I have never had any issues with any of the diff outdrives so far on both my Cyclone S and Cyclone TC. I will tell you if you have either car, upgrade the dogbone part of the CVD to the heavy-duty one. I have twisted several of the lighter purple aluminum ones but have not had that issue since changing over.

Default help on FDR

hi guys,

does anybody knows if a 34/76(64dp) or 31/68(48dp) is possible on the cyclone s?

Aiming to get around 5.4FDR for the 'S'. Or any recommendations?

If you are running 64 pitch, to get near a 5.4 FDR (5.42), you need to run a 45 pinion/100 spur. I don't know what you need as far as pinion/spur if running 48 pitch. Your internal ratio on the Tub S chassis is 2.4375

76 spur wont fit with a 34 pinion.
Here are other options.
88/39
90/40
93/42
95/43

can i assume that they are 64 pitch? lets say for 88 spur, is 40 pinion possible. i'll prolly run min at 5.4fdr, but might push harder.

They are all 64 pitch. Im not quite certain what you mean by "push harder". Are you referring to handling? if so, there are ways to get steering out of your car...i run my S in RCGT Pro and 17.5 TC and doesn't lac in steering.

I have 88 & 47 and 47 is as small as it would fit without removing parts from the chases for a BL motors.

I was able to get 88 & 43 with a shorter brushed motor so no chases modification was needed but I needed to remove some material from the middle block. For a BL motor some material from the chases would have to be removed.

43 is as small you can do with 88 spur.

You can take 88 & 43 and calculate axle distance. With that you can check if your custom configuration would fit.

meant that i might want to squeeze more top end out. aiming for 5.4fdr, but might go down to 5fdr.
