The 3Racing purple alloy parts for the Cyclone S are a drop-in fit and work very well. I have the bulkheads, bulkhead covers, motor mount, mid chassis heatsink, servo mounts and steering belcranks on order. I'm updating my plastic S version to run in my club's 13.5 BL sedan class.

Anybody use the 3Racing alum.? I was looking and it cost about half the price to upgrade certain parts to aluminum with 3Raing than it does with the HB aluminum.
I'm about to get this kit in a few weeks, any tips, tricks, or suggested upgrades out the box? I'm gonna be running 13.5 and 17.5 lipo, probley Novak Havok. I saw a few pages back abou tslotting the motor mount for brushless, will I need to do that or can I just run smaller spur/bigger pinion or swap for 18t pulley?

Hey all, I just finished building my Cyclone S and I am having a problem. My steering tie rods are hitting against the support piece in the center of the chassis that the hinge pins connect to (Part number 61236-2 that the front belt goes through). The only way for them to clear the piece is to lower the ride height to 3-4mm or so. This is way too low. I double checked my pieces and steps and everything was put together right according to the instructions. Has anyone else had this problem? It will turn full left and right with some force but it doesn't seem like it should be that way. I have built many cars before so I kind of know what I am doing. Any ideas?

same problem here and same solution and also make certain that the ball ends are screwed in all the way to the steering block

I've got a problem with my Cyclone S where the center pulleys seem to wear out easily.
I'm running an EZ-RUN 5.5t setup and I mostly just parking lot race/bash. I know that 3Racing makes a Delrin set of pulleys and that HB makes an aluminum set. Do these hold up better than the stock plastic pulleys?
Also, are there any wider belts available for this car? My friend has two older RS4s and the belts on his car are about twice as wide as the Cyclone. They definitely hold up to power and abuse better than the skinny Cyclone belts which I have snapped.
Thanks.

Is there any issue with the stock front bumper? Do you replace it with something that works even better? Thanks!

Is this what you use?

Do you use it with all stock parts or there is something else I need in addition to the bumper?
That looks like a plastic, so do you put the stock foam bumper on top of it?

Can someone recommend me a starting gear ratio for my Cyclone S? I just built it and I will be running an 27T brushed motor (Trinity CO27 or Reedy Stockstar) at first before I drop money on a brushless system. I have heard some people running as low as 3.5FDR and others running as high as 5.5FDR. I will be running on a medium size asphalt track. I am also switching to 48pitch gearing so some gear sizes will be helpful. My local crowd pretty much all runs brushless so there is not much local help with it. Thanks in advance...

When assembled togather, is the foam stikking over the plastic bumper? By how much?
I just wonder what happens when you hit a wall, which part absorbs the impact first.
Thanks!
