Has any 'S' owner just upgraded the chassis (like Exotek, etc.) and just moved all the stock composite/plastic parts over?

If so, was it worth it? Did you notice an reduction in lap times, better handling, better consistency, etc.?

I race exclusively on prepped parking lot tracks, rubber tires.

I am debating keeping my 'S' or shelving it in favor of a more current car. (I really don't want to spend a lot of money right now.... but I don't want to waste money either.)

On prepped tracks I feel I plastic tub has too much flex and sometimes inconsistent during the duration of the race. So stiffining your S with either the HBX or factory chassis will make the car feel more rigid and responsive to setup change.

For me I have the TC and opted for the HBX conversion because I just needed a replacement. I felt the EXO chassis created more flex than the stock 2.5 plate and had to compensate with the 2.5 top deck and solid middle deck to get what I wanted.

For S owners I would think this would be a drastic handling change over stock plastic chassis.

Hey guys, I'm still using the Cyclone S plastic pivot blocks, as opposed to the aluminum ones. Does anyone know the size/number of shims underneath an aluminum pivot block that the plastic one is equivalent too?

They are the same as using 1.5mm shims under the blocks.... if changing over to aluminum blocks u will also need to shim the suspension pins.. 2mm and 0.7mm..

Here are some hop ups and it includes a 16t pulley. It's hard to find parts.

Here's place that has an 18T pulley for the Cyclone series.

Do I need a different layshaft other than stock to use the 18T pulleys?

You can probably fine a set up on Petit RC for the Cyclone and start from there.
