When you changed the diff screw did you pull the whole diff apart? I had that happen when the post which holds the bearings on the diff halves had snapped off.

Default Shock upgrades

Ok I'm trying to figure out what shocks use to replace the stock plastic ones. They've actually worked quite well but now I've noticed that the pistons have to be in just the perfect position or they stick. So time for an upgrade. I've seen some other threads about what are the best shocks but I'm trying to stay with what my LHS has in stock.

1) Pro 4 competion shocks.... Ok I'm sure these work great, they have purple on them and are for the car. But....$80...ouch.

2) TRF FL dampers... many people think these are the best, should fit fine. $65-&70 I think.

3) Losi 10mm... Now I really like these because of the screw to hold on the piston, the different colored pistons and only $54. However how much of a hassle will I have making them fit.

So any comments/suggestions?

What upgrades do I need w/ part#'s to run a BL setup? Is it worth getting the aluminum shock set?

Default Aluminum diff cup joints

I want to use aluminum diff cup joints (#61332) in my Cyclone S. The question is should I use included diff cup joint adapters (#61333) if I'm going to leave the original S dogbones?

Hanzo, I strapped a Novak 13.5 brushless in mine with no problem.

Is a Novak 13.5 equivalent to 19t?

You ran a novak xbr sport 13.5 in the S with no problems? Can anyone tell me mamba max vs LRP vs novak?

I use them with the original dogbones in the rear. Allows you to get rid of those stupid foams in the outdrives.

Kinda weird but my plastic ones worked great for quite a while... then I noticed they started sticking a little. The piston/shaft had to be in certain position to move freely... so I upgraded to the Losi 10mm. Wow glad I did! Like I said the plastics were fine but the new aluminums are awesome.

Mamba Max = sensorless which probably means not quite as smooth as the LRP or Novak (sensored). Mamba programming is awesome and adjustability is better than the LRP/Novak. Other than that your question is too broad. What do you want to accomplish with a brushless system? Race a specific class?... go fast?
