the yokomo one has bigger bearings and is less prone to one way blow outs. also looks nicer since it is anodized blue.

dave, the irs inputs are nice, very light.
does anyone know who makes the titanium stubaxles for the tc3, i remember seeing them somewhere but cant remember. this seems like it would be a great rotating mass reduction.

Northerner... thanx for the correction. I couldnt remember for sure what all IRS offered. Shark... did you say a GPM center one way? Is that the one that replaces the rear or front drivecup for the main driveshaft? I have seen one like that, and wondered who made it. I currently run a Niftech Ti shaft...it is my second one... but they arent bomb proof. I have twisted one before, running modified on a high bite asphalt track in MD. No hits or anything like that... just alot of torque i guess is what did it. It had a persistent wobble near the end where it attaches to the rear gear adapter. Is the ASC aluminum one i have seen mentioned as an update, any stronger? Or is it hollow as well?

The GPM one-way is mounted on a steel input shaft with the one-way drive cup being aluminum. It is mounted on the rear. It looks pretty durable.
I am still using the composite main drive shaft and I think it is has some wobble to it. Have been thinking of getting the aluminum one. Anyone have any thoughts as to if this is worth the expense?

sharkman-i definatley like the aluminum ae shaft. it is not perfectly true but it sure is alot better than the carbon ae ones. the only thing i dont like is the roll pins that come in the ae aluminum shaft, because i run the irs input cups so i think i am going to put irs pin cusions in the shaft instead for better wearability. maybe ill get some this weekend when we go to ct.

So from reading this thred so far if your diff by itself will not spin freely in the transmission cases you need to remove some material from where the bearings ride, correct. If the diff spins freely and the input shaft spins freely but when assembled gets tight you need to remove one or more shims to free it up, correct. This thread is going to be a life safer. Just switched from the XXX-S to the FTTC3. Not going as fast but a lot more consistant and easier to drive. Just need to free up the drive train and get a little more speed. Hopefully this will due it.
I am also running 64pitch, what is the biggest spur I can run without major chassis modifications. I am currently running a 104 with no problems but would like to go alittle bigger.
