I have got over a years racing on a set of 138g's. They will last ages. Take Off CS27's seem to give a little bit more steering and also last a long time(have not raced them more than about 5 meets so cannot say exactly how long)

Thank's . I kind of figured that the 138G were good after receiving so much replies and advice. Once and a while someone will throw you for a spin and give you bad advice !

Will go with the 138G.

Default Tire life


Two things have a big impact on tire life, compound and insert. You should be fine with the HPI Red inserts, especially on an Electric Car.
It is the 139's that wear very quickly, the rubber is much thinner.

The Yokomo's work best on older asphalt that the slurry has been worn/washed away and the gravel is more exposed. With Freshly layed or slurry sealed asphalt, Sorex 36R's will have the advantage. This is what I have found after much experimentation with tires over the years.

If the asphalt is clean and has decent traction you will need to run the Hpi greens if you are dead set on running HPI inserts. This applies to Yok, Sorex and Pit tires. If you decide to run the Take Off CS tires, just run the premounts- they are by far the best value and to be honest they are faster than the Yoks. I see numerous people have tried to tell you the CS tires are better but it looks like you still intend to run the Yoks, so get the HPI greens. The HPI reds will let the inside lip of the tire roll over and chew up the edge of the tire if you have your car setup well with decent traction.
