i think i will go for lrp pulsar comp1..

look at these features and compare it to noval mill pro.

3-in-1 unit - charge, discharge, motor run-in.

Large 2x16 character LCD-display (blue backlight) shows all relevant data.

PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) for maximum efficiency.

Memory for user settings.

Computer-operated cooling fan. Safety first.

Fast Charge (adjustable from 0,1- 8A even during charging

2 Charge Modes: linear and flex charging with PCS-2 and adjustable Delta Peak.

Auto Restart System after power interrupt (LRP exclusive!).

Autostart-Timer, programmable from 0-99 min.

10 A constant current discharge circuit. Displays discharge time, capacity and average voltage display. Adjustable cut-off voltage from 3.6 to 6.0 V.

Matching Mode: fully automatic measurement of a battery pack.

Powerful (up to 9A!) adjustable output from 2.0 to 7.2V. For break-in brushes, comm lathes and 7.2V soldering irons.

i'm reccomending you the LRP one.. and some says the mill pro tends to false peaks some packs.. GO FOR LRP COMP1.

Pulsar

Pulsar is simply more rich in features, both charge batteries well. Pulsar just adds discharge and motor run in for less money. ITs a no brainer. The Novak is from a few years before the pulsar so technology changed.

Both are good unless the novak is priced well under the pulsar i say get the pulsar

There's no comparison, the LRP is the better of the two, but i would advise to look in to the ORION Advantage Carbon, AWESOME !!!

Pulsar wins. Millenium only charges.

thanks guys for the replies.

what about TLP 5000, pitbull X3 and eagle cdc 2.0 vs the Pulsar?

Joel Lagace 04-24-2006 11:21 AM

stick with the lrp

the pitbull is same as novak charger only

TLP is not a major brand its a rebrand of something else, the eagle again i would steer clear of as they are up to version 6 now. The LRP is your best bet.

thanks guys. I think i'll get the LRP.

I'd say lrp and also consider the duratrax ice.

hi,, as of charging.. there's nothing beats competition electronics(CE) such as Pitbull X3, GFX's, etc.. but if u're planning to buy all in one, in one unit.. try the ice charger.. i think yokomo releases their version like ice charger. just check it out on their site.. same as ice.. they only changed the color.. and place a yokomo logo.. ;)

on pitbull X3, charging is superb, green backlit and very light and small, easy to replace micro fuses (the one on the modern car fuses).. there's no false peak and that's b'coz of the LongLockOut.. the only thing is no discharge, and the anooying monophonic sounds. anyway they call it the baby of gfx's....

you can't go wrong if ure getting the Pitbull X3 superb charging..

the only thing is you have to get the discharger or equalizer or Novak Smart Tray to be able to discharge the cells..
