What Clayton announced is that if there is an issue or something fishy with your motor it will need to be torn apart. The IR reading in combination with the motorlyser reading most motors didn't have to be pulled apart.

I do not speak for ROAR or Clayton, but it seemed to go very well.

I've attended a few very large offroad races where there isn't motor tech... so I think that may be nicer for them (if they attend a ROAR race). It seems a lot of offroad racers are afraid to take apart their motors (ironic because they should be the ones doing it the most for maintenance).

They were not torn completely down unless it was deemed necessary after the resistance inspection and Rotor part number inspection. Its a requirement that part numbers be engraved on the flat spot of the rotor shaft for inspection.
