Default First Dibs...

Hi All,

Well, I'm selling my Evo5, so gonna give you all first dibs

Car come with the following extras;
RC Champ Blue Alu/Titanium screw kit
Hexheaded ball studs (used on camber and steering links)
Tamiya Aluminium Front Diff (with ceramic diff balls),
Evo4 Spool,
Titanium Nitride coated inner hinge-pins and Shock shafts,
1mm down type lower shock retainers,
Titanium steering turnbuckles,
Low Friction shock parts,
2 extra chassis stiffeners,
0.5mm and 1mm suspension block spacers (4ea)
1X suspension block to allow 2.5 rear toe-in
Extra pair of Tamiya H0 aluminium rear hubs (0.5mm lower axles),
Selection of gear meshing shims,
Spare set of short LWT arms,
Spare 2 and 4 Hub carriers,
Set of 2 hole tamiya pistons,
Spare front bevel gear, and 2 spare pinion gears.
Protoform DNA1 bodyshell

Car has only been used indoors in carpet, and probably has only 20 race meetings under it. Chassis is in good condition, and has been well looked after. Car has a very free drivetrain (spent a lot of time getting that right )

I'm looking for $350 for the lot, which given the car is worth $370 new, plus all the extras (least $150+), I don't think is a bad deal... but I'm open to offers. Please contact me for postage.
I'll be putting the car onto ebay tomorrow, just thought I'd give everyone on here a chance first...

Regards
Ed

Well, numerous really.
I've been driving Tamiyas for a while now (since early 2004), and recently wanted a change, so brought the new Losi.
That means I have three top line tourers, and somethings gotta lose out as I can't really justify having three. So the Evo is having to go. Feel a little bit of regret with it tbh, never really nailed an ubber setup, was close, but my 415 always felt a bit easier to drive...

Anyway, thats pretty much the reasons.
Ed

Mark... I'm also looking for one. Ran the car first time at TA 3 weeks ago... one way felt great, but I bet it will be even better with a spool on.

Now, this isn't a trick I've tried... but you could remove the balls from a front diff, and tighten up the outdrives hard. Worth a punt if your desperate for a spool.

I tried to get an Evo4 spool to work, however I found it a silly tight fit, the bevel gear seemed to be spaced closer to the centre than on the 5's front axles. Sufice to say, I took it out and used a one-way...

The evo4 spool is a tight fit. You would need to machine some material off the long end to get a little extra play. I don't have any access to those kind of tools so I don't use it.

Ed with your idea with of using a diff. I learned this from the rock crawlers they do it with the TLT's because the center diff on those is TA04 ball diff. they replace the balls with Traxxas friction pegs they apparently fit perfect and lock the diff up fairly good. I haven't tried it yet as my TLT is in pieces, but it might be worth a try.

That's too bad. There are a number of guys here who'd like to run the car in the Reedy race but they don't allow one-ways

Just do the front diff trick then... they allow a diff dont they If you really want to get it tight, cut out some sandpaper to the same size of the diff rings, and replace the balls with then.

The Losi uses a similar trick, replacing the balls with a hard plastic pad.
