Default Evo V diff joint and diff ring gear for Evo IV??

Has anyone tried to use the tried to fit in the entire Evo V diff joint and ring gear assembly into an Evo IV???

Is it good to fit in???

Advice anyone???

I had both the Evo IV & V at the same time and I can tell you that as long as you change the main diff gear, the Evo IV's diffs will fit in the Evo V. So my assumption would be that the Evo V diffs should fit in the Evo IV as long as you change the main diff gear to the Evo IV's. Also, you must check your gear mesh and make sure you shim it properly.

hey guys,

is there anyway to fix my stripped threads on my front bumper and body posts......there is nothing wrong with the screw but the plastic they screw into is no good..........they just never tighten and i have to re tighten them every race!

i think is the contrary , the screws that came for that purpose are not the right one for plastics , they are good for metal threads but for plastic the thread is very small , change the screws for ones with bigger and sharper thread as the ones that came for tamiya plastic kits , that's what i did .

you could try longer screws too so that it goes higher up into the plastic, but really at this point you should just replace the parts

longer is good too , but i dont think he needs to replace parts, i did had same issue , replacer the screws for the right ones and no more ploblems

so has anyone got a chart that shows what gearing combinations are possible, in the evo 5?

thanks, but thats not quite what im after........im after a chart or something that shows you what spur/pinion can actually fit in the car.......because i know not all spur/pinion combinations fit because of the upper deck and motor mount.....

i just changed to 48 pitch , maximum spur is 75 and smallr pinion is 17 , you have to file the inside part of spur hole of upper deck dough

can anyone give me the height difference between the upper and lower deck of the evo V? (I just want to know if something like a maxamps 8000mah will fit in the car)

so with a 75 spur a 17 pinion is the smallest you can fit, so what is the largest pinion you can fit?
