Iīve tested the Evo 5 a couple of trainings now and I can say that itīs as fast or even faster than my MSX. Great turn-in and allround steering yet the rear remains very stable. I contribute this to the new arms. The new steering setup has very little slop and the drivetrain is very free. One-way gear problems is a thing of the past I think.
I drive on a big euro-style track (18s) with low-med grip, seems to fit the car very well. The kit setup seems to be a good starting point also.

I tested the new steering on the 415msx
It works fine.

But even with the new arms and new steering system mounted on the 415, the evo 5 has more cornering speed and more steer turn in.

But still waiting for a spool to race the evo 5 in competition.

Has anyone tried running without swaybars? Tried mine and was handling better without it. This was on stock setup running rubbers on smooth asphalt.

arghh sway bar`s (rollbars in uk) pain in the arse

i don`t use then any where indoor, outdoor rubber
foams we don`t use , more then likley to use then

R/Bars will only work when properly setup which can take a age with fiddling

might put one on front but it has to be like a RSG beam girder, coz the piddly thin wire things do diddley squat

i run with out & i can run very fast with out them (just my thought`s0

Has anyone tried shimming the transmission any different to the instructions? I have put the shims on the oneway so that it is all the way out. It makes a cracking noise when I accelerate. I have changed it back to the instructions and now no noise. If anyone has any advice then please post on here. Thanks.

Any tips on building this car as im going to start mine at the weekend ?

Do you guys remove the shielding from one side of the small hub/axle bearings to flush them or leave them in place ?

That cracking noise is gear slip as you had the one-way ring gear meshed too loose with the bevel pinion gear.

The kit settings were just right with my car, though I did spend a lot of time playing around with the shimming of the rear input shaft, which on my car had too much fore-aft movement.

I don't know about anyone else but I certainly do what you've mentioned - makes the car much more efficient and the bearings last longer
