Hey Hebiki,

Curious, are they going to give us the black plastic gears inside the front and rear drive train and curious should any lub be put on those gears?

Default double diff

I'aim still waiting on a straight answer. Can anyone tell me for sure that it's possible to use a double diff in the Evo V.

By the way nice pics.

Regards,

Yes you can. a TRF driver answered this question on the previous page.

I tried installing an Evo4 spool and it looks like it won't work regardless of all the combinations of spacers that I used. Booo!

Please buy me a 69x mega pixel camera and I'll be happy to post pics. Actually a new digi camera is one of the many items on my ever growing wish list

the gears were black. i didnt notice if they were a similar carbon reinforced gear (like the new TA05 tub and the old hopup gears from the evoIII/evoIV)? maybe rod (rtypec) can answer that.

grease/lube on the gears... i dont put any on mine. just adds drag in my opinion. plus i never know whats a better grease over the other. it comes down to driver preference. (oh yah.. grease/lube will just attract dirt also)

Is the front and rear drivetrain perfectly sealed to debris? i am a parking lot racer... and one little rock normally ends my day as i strip all sorts of gears... i hope this drive train is well closed.... so i just have ot find a way to shield the spur and pinion!

Hebiki, with regards to the car in the pics, is that everything that comes as standard in the kit, or have you added any hop-ups??

i am in the process of getting a new ride and dont know whether to go 415MSX or Evo 5.

this is what i added:
- Ti and Aluminum screws
- all electronics (obviously )
- RW Racing 64P 96T spur
- alum. spring retainers (cannot really see it from the pix)

the rest is KIT/BOX stock.

rcnewb2004... yes the gearboxs are sealed. spur gear is the only thing exposed to debris (i also race on a parking lot track).

Is there any chance an Evo V can take a 112T 64p spur?
