Default Low On Parts

I was looking for Evo 5 Hop-Ups and Spare Parts on the Tamiya USA site.
-There isn't any Hop-Ups left.....(scary)
Old Chassis? But; where's the long-term parts support?

Get what you can.....Now.

TB03 and 04 diffs will fit the car. suspension components are easily replaceable with the older TRF 415/6 style that was fitted or can be converted to the newer TRF 418/9 style that I run on my car.

shock towers will also fit from a TRF 419.
Really the biggest worries would be bulkheads and the chassis decks.
for the chassis decks they aren't available but fiberlyte in the UK support many older cars

So I'm sure if given an evo 5 chassis they would be able to produce decks if needed

Hi, random question, but you seem to have expertise on Tamiya cars. I'm looking to get a bsr m.rage but they have issues with plastic diff out runners. You can get a part for another car, from NitroRc. Mad-3119 diff joint. But these are no use as I'm in UK and shipping is a joke. On investigation, the tb03 evo diff joint cup 'looks' the same but I can't find specs to be sure. Is it possible these parts are the same? Cheers, jj

Thanks for the info AW106.
I don't need parts yet. But I was thinking about getting a new Lower Deck(Chassis). I'm too late. . .?

Yeah I'd imagine a genuine Tamiya lower deck would be really hard to find.
Like I said fiberlyte in the UK produce a lot of parts for older RC cars. Alternatively if you can make a technical drawing or know anyone that can you could get a new chassis deck made pretty much anywhere that can cut carbon sheet

While I wouldn't call myself an expert I have been learning about these Tamiya cars and thanks has to go to this thread for that.
I would be happy to measure any parts to see if they're compatible. Shoot me a PM

If I can't get the genuine-factory parts(some spares) for the chassis; I will put it on the shelf.
(looks like it's coming to that soon)

Default RS4 Sport 3 vs Evo 5

I put the HPI RS4 Sport 3 with the Stock 15T Brushed Motor against the Evolution 5 with the Reedy M3 10.5T Motor(0 Timing) in a Fastest-Lap Challenge.

(each chassis best lap)
-HPI RS4 Sport 3 - 40.33
- -Gearing - 64P - 98Spur | 34Pinion

-Evo 5 - 39.92
- -Gearing - 96Spur | 37Pinion
(I know I can get a better fast-lap. The sun and heat got to me early - 8a.m.)
I will set-up the track and try again.

Default Better O-Rings. . . . . . .?

I use the Tamiya Competition O-Rings - item # 42137.

I'm thinking about using these Muchmore O-Rings - item # MK-FOX40.

Which O-Rings are better?
