My solution for the small slope I have in between the shaft and spur holder is to put Shoe Goo (Goop) to fill the void...really a small amount ! You need also to let it fully cure to make the bound strong. The good thing with that stuff is that it's really easy to take it out after for maintenance...
It work for me very well in 17.5T and stay strong for more than 25/30 packs or until I decide to clean/lubricate the bearings !

Hope this will help !
Alexandre
That's pretty whay I'm doing too ..but I used the JB weld instaed of SHOO GOO...

Thanks!
You have to search ebay and rctech daily until you do and bid high! I have 3 now

First batch of chassis sets sold out in 1 day. Hope to have another batch (maybe the last?) in 2-3 weeks.

A picture with your post, when trouble shooting, will probably get more rctech help than without...

I think I need to get an intern to handle this search . Need to find one as my chassis kit is on the way.

I started collecting parts for a TB-03 / EVO 5 MS a few months as it was the only shafty TC (other than Awesomatix) to have a gear diff, and i think shaft will be a great stock car racer, now the Exotek chassis is out it just makes the car a more complete, modern day racer.

EVO 5's for sale as a whole car are few and far between, but its relatively easy to build one up from scratch, a little more ££ (or $$), but you get the spec you want. Shops in the US, Japan and Hong Kong still stock a lot of TB-03 parts as it is still used as a drift car, most of the drive train is compatible with the EVO 5 so you just need to source bulkheads/motor mount which isn't too hard with a part number and google search.

The Tamiya short reversible suspension is also on sale at a lot of places right now, as are the TRF shocks...i wonder why though...?

Mike, i sent you an email a few days back about the Evo 5 chassis and some additional TA05 spacers, i know you must be inundated at the moment, but if you didn't get it could you let me know.

Quick question...Has anyone used the SPec-R gear diff? The online manual says not to use it with motors under 11.5t...and not in boosted. How true is that? If you update the internals to V2 parts, i'm not sure why it couldn't handle say a 13.5t and 21.5t boosted race. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Chris

Seasons29, do you have any other pics of your car? The red anodizing looks pretty trick.

Is it a racer or shelfer?

Cheers.

I had the gear diff for the TB03, I'm assuming it's the one you are referring to. I think it should be fine with what you are intended to do. The TB03 was rather flexible and you need a lot of shims to get rid of the play. The EVO V should be a lot better.

With the new Exotek chassis, I'm looking at building my own EVO 5MS. However, there are some parts I just can't located, mainly the spur gear holder and the rear propeller shaft. Is it possible to use the TB03 ones? I realize that will make the changing of spur a lot of hassle and defeats the design...
