Default Exotekconversion Spur Gear Advice

Hy there!

Ive also purchased an Exotek Conversion, and now im searching for a matching Spur Gear in 64dpi size.

Does anybody know wich 64dpi Spur is simmilar to an 60T 48dpi?

The duometer of the spur should be max. 340mm

Found a CRC 72T 64dpi here!
http://www.stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...ns&pn=CRC64172

I think it would fit, but i dont know if the gearing with an 39T pinion will match the motor mount holes?

I need to gear at max. 4,5 FDR. So 72/39 will give me exactly what i am looking for.

Thanks in advance

Greetings Rainer

Thumbs up

[QUOTE=Blueman Austria;11951376]Hy there!

To calculate the equivalent number teeth in a 64 pitch to 48 or visa versa. Simply divide the number of teeth by its pitch.
Then multiply that number by the target pitch to get the equivalent number of teeth.

Example: 108 Tooth 64 Pitch =
81 Tooth 48 Pitch
108/64 X 48 = 81
Clear as mud!

Ordered one also. Happy Birthday to me!

Thanks !!!!

Next thing i recognized about the new chassis, it will be tough to install the electronic properly...
My LRP SPX Zero is not the smallest... and with only 84mm chassis width it will be very very thight...

Greetings Rainer

Hi, the parts are not available and I am in the same boat as you...
My solution for the small slope I have in between the shaft and spur holder is to put Shoe Goo (Goop) to fill the void...really a small amount ! You need also to let it fully cure to make the bound strong. The good thing with that stuff is that it's really easy to take it out after for maintenance...
It work for me very well in 17.5T and stay strong for more than 25/30 packs or until I decide to clean/lubricate the bearings !

Hope this will help !

Hi, here are some measurements with some spur I have...

Kimbrough 64P
88T=35.50mm 86T=34.65mm 84T=33.80mm

PRS 64P
82T=33.30mm 78T=31.70mm 77T=31.30mm 76T=30.95mm

Xenon 64P
88T=35.87mm

You can notice small size difference between company...
The thing to consider also is with spur this small is that the screw may interfere with the outer lip of the spur.
Nothing imagination a file and shims can do

With my 17.5T I will probably start with the 82T PRS spur and a 48T pinion.
I have a lot of room with this setup.
With the 82T PRS spur I can even fit a 42T pinion for a 4.76 ratio !

My Exotek EVO 5 chassis is on its way !!!

See you !
Alexandre
