Tamiya TB Evolution V

I ran mine with the oneway all the time
Only on carpet with 17T or 9,5T BL motors the spool handels better, but for usual i run it with my 13,5T BL LRP Eraser "stock spec" motor, and therefor the laptimes with a oneway are faster. (tarmac and carpet).
When i use the spool i cant change my driving style so fast that i can use the advantages of the spool, so it is like i write above.
I am a onewayguy
BTW: Anybody already race an MS kit?

Hey Blueman;
I thought a 1-Way and Carpet Tracks aren`t good.....it gives too much steering.....?. . . . .But it should be alright since you have that Foam Tire traction to slow-down.
-Believe me; using a Spool is the way to go on Asphalt.
I`m thinking about LOCKING the 1-Way.....There will never be a Spool made for the Evo 5.

Don't think a spool is a good idea for a shaft car... like there is nothing to absorb driveline shock.

I run either a Spool or One way for the evo5ms
If the track is open or high traction minus brakes I would run the One way.
If the track is tight and requires brakes for 180* I would run the Spool.
Most kit are base on a oneway. Yet today kits are now coming out with a $3 dollar spool with the same high price tag.
The EVO5ms has alot of steering even with a spool the roll center demands alot of up front grip......I normally remove shims from the front inner camber link to tone the car steering down.

Ok just getting back into racing and building my EVO V which i brought when it first came out, question is where can i order a spool or a complete diff ? running a oneway at my local out door track is just not an option.

What spool are you using? Will the Evo IV spool work for the Evo V ms? What's the part number?

This could solve spool problem:
http://www.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=3470
I cannot confirm its compatibility - but since the gears are the same in TB03 and EVO5, everything depends on the width of bulkhead...

Don't remember TA05 and TRF415MRE use same pulley, but never the same diff hub, one way nor spool.
I think you have to make sure to be better.
Maybe it could solve your problem.

Hy!
My basic carpet setup is:
Dampers:
3-hole plates, 50 oil al around, white springs front, blue rear.
Chamber: 1,5° f+r
Chastor: 4°
sway bars: front hard, rear medium (or f+t medium. depends on the grip level)
Toe blocks: front D+D, rear A+E (for 2° toe in)
no shims under the suspension blocks.
The inner holes on the bulkheads all around.
ride height: 5/5,5 mm
Droop: front 6mm, rear 5mm
The rest of the car is shimmed per manual.
Hope that helps you,

One thing i forgot on the dampers:
build it without an o-ring or urethane bushing!
