TA04 - Gearing
I am looking for different brands of spur and pinion gearing. I would like to stick to Tamiya gears, but it is hard to find, or is out of stock. I bought a robinson racing spur and pinion gear 120/38 in 64 pitch, but for some reason the spur gear did not align right to the mounting holes. Has anyone ran into this problem? Any suggestions on what brand of spur gear to use? Thanks in advance.

A-Ko Thanks for the reply. I'll try the kimbrough gears. You would think that there would be some sort of standard that all the spur gears would fit.

RC Driver - Thanks for the info. I think that I might have better luck finding HPI gears at my LHS.

Some Robinson gears fit perfectly- just make sure you get the 'standard' pattern (the ones made to fit 10th and 12th scale pan cars) and not one intended for a Losi or Associated off-road car or truck. I used a 115 Robinson machined gear on my TA04 GT3 car for 20 or thirty runs and it's still in excellent condition.
Duratrax gears from Tower are actually DuMor stock (they also used to do Trinity's gears). Very nice and the price is great. Like Gary, I've also had good luck with HPI purple spurs. Kimbrough spurs are also excellent.

spur
the hardened TAMIYA .6 module spurs are really great!!! been using it for almost a year and looks brand new. Although they only come in 83tooth and tamiya's .6module is only from 18to 27, and you have to lenghten the mounting holes for the motor to make some of the pinions to reach the spur.
*.6 modules are almost like 48pitch

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I'll try those gears out.
Lem-Thanks for you suggestion, I am trying to keep my car TCS legal so I can't do any cutting on the motor mounting holes.

TA04 Racing Stabilizer Set (rear)
Can I use this in front. Is this the same Stabilizer set that came with the TA04 TRF Kit? I can't find one that says (front) in my LHS. Thanks
