Winds are the number of times a wire is wrapped around a pole on the armature. Anything else?

TURNS = Number of times a number of WINDS are wound around the pole of the armature.
WINDS = Number of wires used.

Electric RC motors are usually quoted as TURNS x WINDS (e.g. 27 x 1 for a stocker).
27x1 means 1 wire wound round each armature 27 times.
Similarly, a "9 triple" means 3 wires wound round each armature 9 times.

Rule of thumb, with higher the number of WINDS (e.g. TRIPLE, QUADS etc), the motor tends to develop peak power at higher RPM. The low WIND motors (SINGLES etc) tend to have higher torque at lower RPM.
