We had the VIC state titles last weekend at GRCR. It's a small tight indoor asphalt track, and I managed to put my AT1 into 2nd in the 13.5 stock class. Another AT1 finished 3rd in Mod. Other than throwing a drive pin during seeding before I could complete a lap, the car was flawless.

Any major advantage of using a diff in the front over the standard spool in terms of performance and handling of the car given everything else remains equal?
Some people are using a locked diff in front instead of a spool as a way to increase the front weight of the car.

Trying it out, still undecided. When I first put it in I didn't notice much difference, and haven't got around to trying the long pack again.

Why wouldn't they use a spool then, and add weight to the chassis in front? Lower CG and less rotating mass.

Just curious - what motor and where were you geared at?

Thanks

I recently picked up one of these and had a couple of questions. When I measure the rear toe it’s never even left to right. Electronics side seems to be .5deg more. Also when setting ride hight one side seems to need more preloaded on the spring. Tried to see if I had tweaked the chassis while assembling the car but it lays flat and nothing stands out.

Half a degree is pretty negligible, slop and manufacturing tolerances in either the car or the setup station can account for that. As for the preload, are you using the stock springs? The quality of the springs isn't great, they're often not matched in length. I usually switch to Xray or Yokomo springs.

I am using Xray springs. I will keep looking into it. Thank you.

I'd like to use the springs and the X4/23 shock. Looks like an extra long rod end is needed.
Anybody figure a way to do this?

Thanks.

What would the advantage of that be? Shorter shocks are only an advantage when you can mount them lower, you won't be lowering the CoG by lengthening an X4 shock.
