Default Digital servo = Horrible Battery Drain?

Sup guys! I wanted to hear your opinions on putting a digital servo in my XXXS with a 10-double. I know the battery drain of a digital servo isn't that bad with a stock motor, but will I have problems with dumping if I put a digital in now?

If you are worried about batterys dumping with the digital servo...then I would get a digitial one with 6V vice 7.2V I.E. a Futaba 9550 vice a KoProPo 2123

both of them are outstanding servos..but the 2123 is a tad bit over kill in my book

Hope this helps a little

A digital servo will drain more than an analogue servo.........but the battery drain from ANY servo is insignifcant compared to your motor! You have to put things into perspective sometimes!

Just run some of the new 3300Ni-MH and you shouldn't really have any problems dumping in a race....

Digital servos do not drain that much I ran 45minute to 1 hour mains running 2 digital servos in my 1/8 buggy. If you are gonna dump because of your servo then I would look elsewhere for your problems.

I run 2400 nicads & running Futaba 9450 digital servo.I haven`t noticed any significant performance loss or battery dumping during a race.

Default Not a consern

Ski Bum;

Only time I might want to go analog is in an Electric spec class that only allows 1500-1600mah battery packs.
Using any Digital servo should be of no concern, Nitro or electric. All of my cars (8) have them in at least the steering.

Thanks guys! The servo I plan on putting in is a Airtronics 94757 Digital (6.0V). I run Sanyo 3000HV's, so dumping shouldnt be a problem.

Default Digital servos

skibum989;

I don't know the specs of the Airtronics 94757 Digital (6.0V), but go for the fastest one offered. You will really love the way the car drives with a High Speed servo.

It's a pretty fast one at 0.07 sec. It has 115 oz/in. of torque too, with dual ball bearings and all metal gears! (ok, ok, im getting kind of corny)

The 6.0volt/7.2volt is just what voltage was used to get the specs for the servo. If your running 6cell, it'll run at 7.2v regardless...

Yeah, the servo will only run at 7.2 V if it is a fet servo with a forth wire attached to the speedo. All other servos will run at 6.0V when in a car with an ESC. The esc only sends 6.0V to the reciever so it doesnt fry the reciever.

No, there is no fourth fet wire, so it runs on 6.0v. Thanks again for the help!
