hey guys i am going to build my own discharger but i cant figure out how many amps it should dischargs at some places people say 30 but then another place they say that 30 will hurt the batteries because they will get to hot.
so should i use 30 if i can cool the batteries enough down ore should i use 20 amp discharge
Well, considering that most matchers use 30 to 35 amps to discharge a fully peaked pack for several cycles to get the best numbers... When the batteries are discharging, they'll naturally get considerably hotter than when charging without risk of venting. You'll be fine discharging them at 30 amps then tray them before you're going to charge them. The big concern is to be sure that they've completely cooled prior to charging.
