My car only has had one issue in 4-4.5 hours of run time. Some idiot was standing in the middle of the straight. I was running 13.5 and I nailed him dead on. I broke a plastic c-hub. Never any issues with cva pins.

Me and a team will be entering and endurance race in february but the main car we're lookin to use ive noticed breaking CVA pins at least 3-4 times in the last few months. I dont want this uncertainty during a 4 hour race. He runs 13.5 if that helps. My brother who also has a TC5 (but with front aluminum C-hubs, not sure if the rears are aluminum) has never broken the CVA pins but hes only ran it with a 27t brushed and only 2 runs now with a 17.5 brushless. Any help would be appreciated.

same cva pin keeps breaking or sporadic?

check the CVA-in particular the slot created for the pin. if that slot gets damaged (happened to me) or becomes larger. the pins will start breaking or bend. you might also notice a kick left or right on hard throttle or from a dead stop--the larger CVA slot can cause a delay in cva axle rotation due to the larger gap-the other 3 wheels starts to spin a fraction of a second before the wheel with the larger cva slot--trust me took me 3 months to figure out the kick left problem i was having.

another thing to check--put the car on a car stand. give it some soft throttle and observe how all 4 cvas' rotation--make sure they don't wobble. if one does-look to see if the cva is slightly bent (happened to me).

=the source of the majority of the tc5 steering slop is from the fitting between the steering post and its bearing (the upper bearing). put threadlock there and the remaining 10-20% is from the ballcups-no big deal there. this is a night and day result-try it!

-this will also cure most of the chatter from the wheel when fully turned and on throttle.

That last tip was worth the cost of a tube of ThreadLock all on it's own!

Congratulations to Keven Hebert on his well deserved win in superstock foam in cleveland. Also a second place finish in mod foam.
Great job Keven!

VTA question. I am trying to fit an HPI '65 GT350 Mustang body on a TC5. The wheel wells match the wheelbase, but it seems the bumper is in the way of the front fascia. Has anyone else run across this, and if so, did you find a solution other than grinding away at the bumper? Thanks in advance.

Just got my new TC5R in the mail and am going to start building tonight!

I remember reading something about the picture in the instructions being deceiving. Do I use only using one foam spacer or both when building the shocks?

Thanks J.

Has anyone else noticed that the stock body posts on the rear are so high up! I literally have 15cm of spare post sticking out of the car Gotta cut them down.

I didn't put balls in mine and haven't broken anything yet in a crash(knock on wood). I just made mine "snug", the spring pressure does well to keep it from slipping.

I did not use any of the foams in my shocks, as I had read that was the best choice over on Associated's forums.
I normally see around 80% rebound which suits me perfectly.
More foams = more rebound.
