well looks like most everyone is out of the ITF chassis top and bottom deck. If I am running on high grip carpet do you think I might be able to get away with running the original chassis and top deck and still be competitive?

Why not just by a TC5R? Assuming you have a current TC5 it would probably be cheaper to sell your current then buy a new than the price of the top and bottom chassis? Plus you get the new slipper spool, cam holders, etc. Just a thought, that's what I did.

As far as the TC5 goes how are the shocks? Are they the same or are they more Tamiya"ish"?

I am looking hard at the TC5...just need some feedback on what I have always had a hard time with...sorry if this is a dumb question...

in my opinion the tc5 shocks are the easiest shocks i've built. i wish all shocks went together like these.

I run the standard chassis with an ITF top deck with the O ring mod and it goes really well. I am using sorex 24s and as the grip comes up I sometimes need to tune some of it out by refitting the original top deck.

Its worth a try.

Thanks. I will give it a try. I have been racing foam and havent tried rubber yet so wanted to see what others were doing on carpet which I know is alot different than rubber on Asphalt. thanks again.

Everything is seated ok, just loose, might be time for a pair of those aluminum hubs...

I added two shims behind the pin and bearing in the front stearing block and tried to do the same in the rear but two shims were too tight so I left it loose with the one shim. Can you add another shim to tighten it up?

Not a bad idea, I was going to wait until this weekend to tear it down but might go ahead and look at it tonight. What did you use for shims?

What does the TC5R updates provide over the standard TC5? Does the stiffer chassis transfer weight to the tires better? Aluminum outdrives for durability? What brushless systems is everyone using right now in stock?

It comes with the ITF chassis and top plate that allow more flex for low grip conditions. The outdrives allow harder acceleration. Brushless is 17.5 for R.O.A.R but ask your local track.

Default rollout

Can some one tell me what pinion I should start with on the TC5ft for carpet. I have a 116 spur and I'm starting out with a CO27, and 57mm foam tires. Our track is 150'x75' set up with the vegas layout. Thanks.

I used the TC5 shim kit. It's bascially another set of shims for the car.
