Reason why alloy blocks

I dismantle some sections of my car after almost every race meet to check bearing etc are free - when you remove the screws after a few times they come loose as some of the thread from the steering block or rear block is damaged and is attached to the screws when removed.Instead of replacing blocks thought maybe alloy is the answer.I race every week so the car does get knocked about -wish I had a sponsor to supply me some parts would solve the issue.

Stock = 2.5mm woven carbon fiber chassis and top plate

Drop one of the hinge pin holders off of the bulkhead, and pull the arm off

That makes sense but you can buy a lot of the steering blocks for the typical cost of aluminum ones. Plus you risk breaking more c-hubs with them. Just my thought. Looks like someone found integy was coming out with some. good luck.

Thanks K Spec

Now I wait for when they have some stock.

Next question:

Do you think some bearings are more suited for ashpalt than carpet?

I race outdoor so dust is a problem for the life of the bearing.
Am thinking that some brands of bearings may have a better seal to prevent dust getting in.

IMO you would want to use a bearing that has a rubber seal for the dusty/dirty enviroment. Even though the rubber sealed bearing will have a higher "drag" on the inner and outer race. The rubber shields are easier to remove and reinstall when cleaning and re-oiling them. I have had great luck with APS Ceramics and Avid Revolutions

Default bearing

Any suggestion whom to try for the Aps or Avid ?

I Checked 2 sites none have the 6x10x4 wheel bearings for the TC5 listed .

Im looking to get a TC5R when they come out and I run lipo exclusively and was wondering if PPD or anyone else makes a weighted battery strap or battery posts instead of adding lead or other weights to keep a more factory looking appearance?

Definitely go with the PPD tray if you are running a flat pack like the SMC. I'm not sure how well it would work with the humps on the Orion packs. They make a very nice side weight as well.

I'm not positive, but I don't believe that the bearing is 4mm wide. You might want to measure one to be sure. I've had good luck with Avid bearings.
