A captured threaded ball joint? Sure. Hudy is a great designer...

Any speculated release seasons yet?

I would perfer caputured ball cups also. I converted my last car to them. I've considered doing it to the TC4, but my laziness has gotten the better of me

The TL team guys, Matt Francis in particular, have been cutting off the top of their ball cups on vertical ballstuds since the hex drive ballstuds they came out with about 4-5 years ago. Not sure if someone had done it before that point, but it was the first I saw it.

This way an allen tool lets you adjust the roll center without disassembly for testing, etc. It also allows removal of the parts, but i'm not sure wearing out the threads is better then popping the ball cup on and off, toss up.

Sounds like the TC5 is on the right track.

I'm kind of starting to hope it's called the TC5. :-)

You can stop hoping, it was confirmed at the novak race that it will be the TC5.

I hope they can get that motor a little more to the centerline before it comes out.

Oh cool!

It looks like the topdeck was redesigned a little bit to be less curvy. I definitely prefer the look of the topdeck on the latest pictures over this one.

Wow, it does look like it's really hanging out there. The bulkheads seem like they're pretty narrow, why is it pushed out so far? I suppose the aftermarket could accomplish it very much like the way SRC did with their offset bulkhead for the RDX.

Yep, another interesting feature is that the belt is totally flat across the top, front and rear belt both, makes for a sweet looking car. And by the size of the pulleys very efficent.

The motor sits in the position it is in for the purpose of perfect weight distribution. This particular top deck is for maximum stiffness for foam tire carpet racing. The one in the other photo allows for more flex on rubber tire carpet or asphalt racing.

In this photo, the car is set-up with a heavy body and only required 3/4 oz. to bring it to the minimum. With a standard lightweight body an additional 1/2 oz was required. Full production parts will lighten things a bit more as will the use if titanium hardware.

Is what we are looking at what will pretty much be in the box? The car looks really good... a little more cleaning up and it looks ready to go. I had hoped for inner vertical ballstuds... instead of the shock tower mounted ballstuds... has there been any talk/chatter/testing over changing/making the aluminum shock tower mounts so they could incorporate 1 or 2 inner vertical ballstud holes? Like having two different top decks for different type tracks. I really like the fine tuning you can do with thinner shims under the inner ballstuds on the 4 series cars. It would be nice to have that option. Is there any adjustment for front or rear diffheight and/or belt tension? A plastic battery tray like the Kyosho car would be above and beyond excellent. One for 6 cell, one for 4 cell. It could also be easily/cheaply converted to a flat tray for those who use LiPo cells. Just buy the replacement tray, not a whole chassis update/modification. I know it isnt that easy but, it could really make the car appealing to a larger market w/o having to sell a US spec, a European spec, or a Japan spec/6cell/4cell/LiPo kit.
