Default Rear Toe

Hey all,
I've been looking at TC5 setup sheets and notice that many of them call for 2 , 2.5, or 3 degrees of rear toe. I can't imagine the rear wheels having a positive toe. Is the toe for some of these setups supposed to be negative toe?

Always rear toe should be -

From the top:

front (+1deg)

\ /

rear (-3/3.5deg)

/ \

Or for slower class:
front

| |

rear
/ \

How much it depends what you like, but 3-3.5 is great for me (per each side),
and when I set it on chasiss, I will never play with it more

Regards!

Default First rubber tire run

Hey all

This weekend was the first time i ran rubber on carpet and it went horrable! all i did was slip and slide all over the place. i copied Ricks set up and i could barely put one lap down with out hitting a board. it pushed like crazy and i could not generate any foward traction. i used paragon on 100% rear and about 80% front with jaco blues running on Ozite. any help or setups and advice would be great. thanks!

Unfortunately AE deleted all TC5 setupsheets. I tell you mine in short:

2 Camber all around
3 toe in at rear, 0 in front
silver spring in front, green in the back with 55wt oil
arm mount 1 or 2 (depends on grip) all around
7mm droop at rear, 6.5mm in front

In combination with VTEC CPX tires and full sauce this setup worked very good.

Well heres the pdf of the setup sheet that you can fill in.
http://rapidshare.com/files/43030441...ccc_exotek.pdf the setup I think may be rather old.

For rubber on carpet you need a spool or slipper spool.

I run 57 pistons 60wt oil front 40 wt rear
silver springs front, green rear
black sway bars on the rear
i run speed 6 body but ltc-r body is supposed to be just as good if not better.

15-20 min is good with paragon,. Just make sure you clean your tires between resaucing.

Thanks. I was looking for a setup from Keven Herbert. I use it without the black sway bar in the rear and with other droop values. But I like how it works.

They didn't delete the sheets, they deleted the links to the sheets. You can still download them here: http://www.teamassociated.com/setupsheets/tc5r

The question is...which would work best for RCGT on carpet?

This is a setup that works great on carpet (with VTEC CPX Tires).

http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/594/setuprt.jpg

I use it on many different tracks. I just adjust the droop and if neccessary use other arm mounts (if there is no grip).

How much drop you change and which arm mounts and when ?

Can you post some advice?

Regards and good luck!

I have 6.0mm droop in front and 6.5mm for the rear as "standard". How much I change mainly depends on how the car behaves. Normally 1/8 rotation with the screwdriver is enough to change the car back to my favourite behaviour (with a little little oversteer).

The armmounts I use are mainly 2point and 1point all in the A-hole That works great on medium and low grip surfaces and gives enough grip in most places without giving the car an invitation to roll.
I use the same setup with the 2point arms and 45wt oil on carpet (with the VTEC CPX-tires); and with 1point arms and 35wt oil on asphalt (with the VTEC 30X).
