Anyone have any big changes to that to start out with? Also I want to go with the Mamba Max pro since I mostly own all CC stuff but since there smallest KV motor is 4600 Im kinda at a loss with that portion.
The 4600 will be around a 10.5 or so. Castle motors are not approved for spec classes, but they are legal for open mod. For 13.5, popular choices for motor are the Duo line (1 & 2), and the novak ballistic

Thanks for the suggestions. After doing some research I think Ill go for the Novak motor. Any thoughts on the HPI x-pattern tires vs the normal jaco or similar slicks. Im thinking on a partially prepped parking lot (swept only) that the slicks wont do all that well since theres going to be small amounts of sand and pebbles left behind.

A oneway is basically a locked differential. Grab one of your front wheels and try turning it forward and backwards. See the way the other tire on the front can only turn in one direction and not the other? Now try it on the rear with the diff. The other tire turns in the opposite direction.

When going around a corner the outside wheel covers more distance than the inside wheel. The dif allows the wheels to turn at different speeds.

Advantages of a oneway can be more corner speed with high traction.

A disadvantange is if you need to do heaving braking.

A SMC 4100 should hold up fine. I run SMC 3200 28c in spec class with no problems.

I am going to be purchasing a tc5r, and was wondering what all breaks on the car so I can have a few spares. Also what springs to use and if they are the same springs from the tc3?

Yep, same springs. Be sure to buy a Parma hard bumper to protect the caster/steering blocks, other than that it's pretty tough.

You need to purchase an aftermarket lipo tray such as the Associated or Diggity Designs trays.

+1 on the Parma Bumper...I haven't broken anything since I bought one.

Also, get the B4/T4 diff nut for the front spool and rear diff.

You're not likely to use more than 1500 mAh in a heat. 4100 should be plenty.

Ok that sounds like a better cheaper idea.. I bought my car used any idea what size I need for the center line bearings? Heres what I have let me know if Im correct please : 5x8x2.5 x2, 10x15x4 x2 and 8x4x3 x2. Also I'm guessing just need 8 6x10x4 for the outside metal shielded is that correct?

I've been running a TC5 for about 3 years. I used to break a lot of arms/c-hubs and a few rear hub carriers (I had a *lot* of "board meetings"). I replaced them with aluminum versions from Integy; since then, I've broken a few arms or arm mounts.

I've also had problems with the steering servo saver and horns. Again, this is most likely due to board meetings.

I also switched to RPM ball cups to tighten up the steering.

HTH,
Grem
