Best comments are from real life. Theory and setup books comments everybody knows, the problem is, that different setup books explain things different and tell sometimes something completely different about handling after changing something.

I ran a 72/31 combo, LRP SPX and Team Epic DUO 2 (17.5) and it was all good. Seemed like there was plenty of room to go up and down a couple of teeth..

Thanks.
Are you talking about the different ball stud locations where you can effectivly run shorter camber links but keep the same camber, if so its to adjust roll center.

Cool thanks, chance are I'll be starting at 72/32 but I'll probably end up at 72/34.

I need some help. I currently run on a Tight asphalt track, that is med traction. I run diffs front and rear. I am trying to get ready for the IIC race. Would i be better off running a diff, One way or spool up front?

Everyone seems to run front spools. I tried one many times. I always seems to break the plastic bone blades. I mean they have to be replaced every time I run.
I called Associated and they recommended a slipper spool. It worked much better for me. The problem is it "loosens" up every run. I got by this problem with some locktite on the nut.
All the others racers use the spool, but I like the slipper spool.
Be sure to use locktite and tighten it real tight. This way it acts like a spool, but will give a little if you hit something.

Default spool

Tight track a spool will probably be best.
a solid spool is probably the best option.
if you use a slipper spool....change the lock nut to the white version...(part number is listed somewhere on here)...
either spool option...grease the blade with a dab of black grease...seems to help with wear.
Top TC5 steel spool doesn't use blades...have to use the one way pulley with it.

one way might not be the best choice since braking can be a bit hard to control in a tight track.

just my opinion of course....go with what best suits your driving style.

use a slipper spool but when u put it together the instructions say to take the thrust balls out but i use them and ive never had it loosen up on me and not broke a bone blade

Also get the t-nut(white) from the off road diffs and use lock-tite on the screw. I had a slipper spool back off once then I did this and it has stayed very tight from then till now.

Hi Guys,

I am getting some mid corner traction chatter from my TC5R, we run on a med traction asphalt car park track and I use 32shore Sorex rubber tires... my setup is as per the book with the exception of 30wt losi shock oil.

The car has tons of steering, in fact in has oversteer if anything.

Any tips!! thanks!!!

Hey Guy's

Is there any news about a TC-6 orso yet? The concept of the TC-5 is almost 3 years old. Dont get me wrong I still like it, and like both my TC5 and TC5R, but I'm just willing to build a new car ;-) ;-) I haven't heard anything about a new TC yet.

Best Regards

Robert

TC6 orso? From what I have read on this thread, it does not look like we will be seing a new TC from AE soon. I would like to see a "high" quality car from AE. Or even an updated tc5 with better parts and tolerances. The one thing AE has over any other brand is parts support and supply. It is simply unbeatable.

Bahh.... the amount of stuff we're doing to the tc5 over here to get the most out of it we may as well call it the tc6!
