Even though this pic is way to bright, at least it will add some color to the TC5 thread, .

Also try adding more drag brake to your esc, that will transfer more weight off throttle and add more steering coming into the corner
Cool thanks...there are about 10 guys in the expert class and most of them use diffs and Ive matched their setups as close as I can...I run brushed motor so I have a good amount of drag brake...they say the track is too small to use a spool...I never gave it a try because of this but all the driver sheets from the pros use it...

What camber are you running? I find my car is quite sensitive to small camber changes. Also are you running around 3* rear toe in? If so you can try adding some toe out to the front, 1* max, that gives a little more steering at the cost of some stability and straight line speed.

Did you check your droop? It is one thing that is not obvious from checking other people's cars, and is often overlooked but if there is not enough rear droop then the car cannot rise in the rear to shift weight to the front, and will effect your steering (off throttle) and likewise with too much droop up front (on throttle).

Correct me if my thinking is backwards, that seems to happen a lot.

Regards

Neal

That makes perfect sense, Ive tried 2*, 1 1/2* and 1* all arouns and the same for rear toe and it seems to handle the same either way...thanks

I ran the same setup that Rick did. You can find my setup on my site at www.mo-net.ws under car setups. Juho ran something a bit different. I'm sure they will put it up on www.rc10.com eventually.

Hi mo!

I have questions :-)
- how do you set drop?
( like this ? #3987 Droop Gauge. Supplement to the manual
http://aedownloads.com/downloads/ins...droopgauge.PDF)
- have foam in top of shock (bladder) ?
- total weight?
- chassis was balanced R/L ?
- chassis lean nice when you pass corner ?

Your setup is almost like my based on old Rick Howart ...

Regards!

m.

ps: sorry for my English I try do my best )

Default No foam in shocks

I have noticed some set-ups that state no foam in bladder. What effect does removing the small and/or large foam pieces in the shock have?

Hi!
I removed large foam and set rebond for about 40-45%, shock work smooth and
and main job is done by spring, suspension is softer. I must play with shocks
for same speed for uncompress (compress shock and watch how fast piston back).

:-)

Hope this helps!

Michal,

I am experiencing a lack of rear traction that I cannot get a handle on. Would removing the foam in the shock help or make that condition worse? And would I remove it in both the front and rear shocks?

Droop- Yes, just like that PDF.
Bladder- No foam
Total weight- 1508g
Chassis Balanced R/L - yes
Chassis lean- The chassis rolls a lot in high speed sweepers but it doesn't drive like it's leaning too far. My motor is quite scratched up from 2 large right turn sweepers that were on the Reedy layout.

Those instructions for setting droop are simply downstop aren't they? I thought that droop was considered uptravel which is measured over ride height.

Yes!

You have right! When I set my setups I always wrote about gauguage,
usually I have 2mm drop at front and 2.5mm at rear, it depends on spring preload, for my chassis I set it for F about 3mm and rear 2mm :-)

Regards!
