Also check to make sure the ballstuds are not too tight, that would stress the plastic.

I had to use a shorter screw on the center steering post but that was the only problem I had when I switched over.

I'll be using a Novak 13.5/GTB system with 56mm foams (and once those wear out, 63mm foams), and 3700 Nimh batts on a 72' x 32' carpet track. I've been told a 78 spur and a 33 pinion should work, right? I also run on asphalt at Lazer Speedway in adrian, www.lazerspeedway.com , so what spur/pinion should I use there? Thanks
Drew

Is anyone running their TC5 on carpeted oval??? I am running a TC5 with a 13.5 and a Orion 3800 Lipo. I am looking for a basic set up for on the oval. It is a midsized track with med-high bite carpet. ANY help would be great.

It will depend on the layout Drew..... I'll know more as it gets closer to opening day, the first layout is going to have lots of turns and short straits.

You are not alone... I just bought a lower ITF chassis and installed it and the bulkheads wonder on the chassis and do not fully tighten up to the chassis.. I even tried shorter screws???

I can see the problem.. My bulkheads and steering shaft need to be counter sunk as suggested above. The taper part of the screw head sticks out past the chassis..

Maybe the newer/later production TC5 kits aluminum pieces are counter sunk.

I would be interested to hear what Associated has to say.

I am possitive it is an issuse with the bulkheads and not the chassis.. I can see how the motor mount is counter sunk and the bulkheads are not. Maybe they missed this step in manufacturing.
