Trailranger, where did you get the helicoils small enough for the 4/40 thread? I can't find them at any autoshop or home depot style place I go to.

Tonight I put Josh's latest setup on the car to try out this weekend.

Also, does any one else have any experience with Jaco blue and green tires on a low bite track? I have been running green, but should I consider running the blues?

Thanks

The Blues were specifically designed to run on carpet and are the spec tire at almost every big US carpet race. The blues are fantastic tires that wear really well. I have tried greens at my local track and did not like them, but I did not change much on my car to make them work. For low bite I would guess that greens would be best, but honestly I would try to make the blues work.

Your best bet is going to be an industrial supply house such as McMaster Carr or Grainger. They can be pricey though, try your local NAPA first, sometimes they have them as well.

hey can somebody explain the affects of lowering or raising the roll center? i need less traction.

i am going through a traction roll problem-besides changing brands of tires -- i want to change the roll center.

there seems to be conflicting information going around about this subject.

I agree with ottoman.

Also i ran jaco blue tires on an almost brand new carpet with low bite. They worked really well, but i do run my car very soft. Its easy to drive and pretty quick.

I am awaiting the next time i can get to the track cause Josh H's setup should be very very good. He races at my local track from time to time and he did turn fast lap with that setup against some very good drivers.

Lower Roll center give the CG more leverage to ROLL the car.

Higher Roll center less leverage, less roll

Default Traction Roll

Traction roll is usually the result of too much front traction compared to the rear. When you turn, the front bits so much that the energy has to go somewhere so it flips over. Ever see a car with a push traction roll? The car slides instead of gripping.

This is my understanding, all the pros please correct if wrong.
