I ran the stock 2.5mm (F) chassis near 1 year then thoroughly checked on a PPD tweak plate. The chassis was out some (.015) but less then most other TC's after what mine had been though that year.

Most people are never aware of this and dial it out in setup...they're just left wondering why the shock collars are different to get ride height ..ect.

But...the ITF 2mm chassis is a different case. Since installing that, I've had a few impacts knock it out worse (.020 +). A bent bulhead, a bent screw, or poor tightening proceedure on top deck can tweak it, not to mention a perma twist in chassis plate itself. Using the 4 orings on the top deck helps. Bottom line...the thinner the chassis, the more careful you need to be...with any TC.

Default Transponder Placement

I'm still somewhat new to racing and have had my TC5R for a few months now. I've gotten most of the add-ons I've needed (the weighted plates from VernDog work great) and I'm getting a transponder today. I've seen a lot of people place them in front of battery, is this the normal placement for it? I do need just a little more weight on that side so that should do it or be fairly close. And also would you normally run the wire under the the belt or through it? I think I have a couple images saved at home in my pit book to reference but I thought it'd be best to ask first.

Thank you in advance for the help.

i put my transponder on the bottom of the steering servo and you want to run your wires thru the belt.

Thank you for the information. I have my receiver in between the servo and speed control on the left so I will probably have to go on the bumper or the spot just north of the where the battery lays. I finally got a set of balance buttons so I can ensure that the weight is equal.

Here is my current carpet rubber tire setup. It looks kind of crazy on paper, its based off of Joel's setup but adapted for stock.
Without a doubt the fastest, most stable carpet rubber car I have ever driven.

How are you using camber hole 2-B? I bottom out in the ball cups and can't get any less than +1* camber. Did I use the wrong turnbuckles somewhere.

2-B shouldn't really be a problem.....I did cut a little off the turnbuckles to run 2-A.
You could try some shorter turnbuckles or dremel about a 1mm off of each end of the stock turnbuckles.

Sorry, 2-A. Been a long day.

I tried to get 2-A a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't get it. The 2-B is what I normally run.

Josh, this weekend I was racing against a Corally driver who was still using one of your old setups. He spoke very highly of you.

In this last setup you used piston 57...what assoc. piston will be close to it? Should I buy the losi pistons(I think 57 is losi?) ?

How will that setup work on low traction ozite? My current set-up is running silver (front) and green(rear) springs to gain enough traction. I am also using jaco greens. Thanks for the help.

No...I run all hard parts on my car.

I forgot to put that on the setup sheet.

You should be safe running the associated #3 pistons. If I had to guess I would say a 57 piston is between a #2 and a #3.

The setup works well on low bite. But if your running the old jaco greens(dish wheel) those don't make very much traction on low bite tracks.
