Juho...thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick some of those up for sure. Sounds like between 2mm and 2.5mm should be similar to running the 3 degrees inboard toe I've been running. Might try out 2mm first since I'd like a little less toe in anyhow.

I ran a modified version of Joel's carpet setup this weekend at the Region 12 asphalt champs. I finished 2nd in 10.5 and 3rd in 13.5 but had a car good enough to win both. I'll post the setup as soon as I get it into acrobat.

I'm trying to set up my TC5 for VTA and have run into a problem. The rear end is loose. It mostly happens in the right-hand, high speed sweeper. It starts as a slow spin just after corner entry.I run at a carpet track. Here is my set up.
ride height=5mm, front&back
40w shock oil, 100% rebound
gold front springs, silver rear springs
front shock mount 3B, rear shock mount 3B
front camber link 5A, rear camber link 3
front droop=3, rear droop = 5
batteries, 4 cell NimH in the foward position.
ITF chassis and top deck.
I tried new tires,old tires.saucing, no saucing
The radio's dual rate is @ 50%
The shocks are equal length, the chassis isn't tweaked.
Any help will be appreciated.

Try moving the battery to the middle. It will just put weight over the rear wheels a little more.

Do you have weight added to the battery side of the chassis?? You will be about 140 grams light on that side with only 4 cells.

try 45f/35r shock oil, with less rebound, and batt in middle

adjust all your tweak on the car as per normal. then put on your sway bars and check tweak! if it is out then you can adjust your length of each side to get them even! then your tweak will be perfect

how much of a difference would the ITF main chassis make for rubber asphalt? I have been running the regular one. Is it worth the $50 bucks to upgrade?

@Bigger Brother

You need to use the new Slipper Spool. Then the outdrives is longer and you will not break any blads, when making front wider. You can keep the wider front and car will be even better.

Thanks - thats what I had thought. Have one on order so will try it out as soon as possible. Thanks again for the setup, it really did help out massively.

Cheers

Hey guys I have a few questions about some of the set-up sheets I've seen.
So I'm still building the car and see that some people are using Losi pistons in the shocks and or Losi oil.
Now are these types of changes making a huge difference or should I start with the box set-up then try those changes on my own to see what happeneds.

Thanks for the help!
Sean
