GM used to be the largest auto makers but not anymore. Toyota has already bagged the largest auto maker title years ago. They are actually the richest car company now. They have produced and sold cars that no other company has ever done before. Both records in production and sales. You can check this fact at the Guiness records.

Sorry GM is still the largest. Toyota is not the largest. Here are some July 2006 numbers for the US sales.

GM- 406,674
Toyota- 241,826

So how do those numbers stand up to your statement. That is 1 month of sales in the US alone.

Worldwide, Toyota is leading in sales and production. Toyota has a larger sales outside the US.
