Well then I guess its a good thing that i'm borrowing Jucha's car for foam.

Tc5R comes ready out of the box for asphalt mod racing as well. Dont really need to change anything on the car as far as upgrades for mod racing.

Hi guys.

I am building a new TC5R this weekend. Out of all the touring car offerings I picked the TC5R due to cost, part availability and all the great comments here praising the car.

I will be running rubber on asphalt, how should I build the shocks up? I understand that I may not need the foam inserts that the bladders would be sufficent?

Also I will be running two motors, a 19T (open class) and a 27T (sportsman class) with the 87 tooth spur, any thoughts on pinion size?

Thanks

Dave

DO NOT use the little blue foam pieces in the shock caps. When i first built my car, i used those and it completely restricted the movement of the shocks, our track owner (and Associated driver) told me to take the foam pieces out and then they worked mint.

Hey guys when doing the o-ring trick on the top deck, do I do it for all 8 screws or just the rear 4? Or is just a preference for how much "flex" you need?

1: Go with Robison Racing 64 pitch if possible, gives you alot more ratios with availability of parts.
2: It depends on how good a driver you are and what types of accidents you have, like hitting walls or getting hit.
The Factory spool now has the slipper built in and it is supposed to help with blades lasting longer. If yoy have a solid spool you will go through blades quite regularly if you get hit or hit something.
I personally have just started using the Jaad spool with the delrin plastic cups and it is fabulous!! You do not thave to use blades with it and it seems to work very well!
