if its not too much trouble,

Can someone tell me the size (thickness of the itf top deck & botom deck?

and also the differences between the tc5 & tc5r

would be a huge help,

I run foams on asphalt. Has anyone tried using the stock 2.5 chassis with the ITF top deck? I have the ITF top deck on order. I am using the stock chassis with 4 screws & orings holding the topdeck on. It hooks up good so far with this setup.

Lower CG?

Has anyone ever tried to mill 1.5 or 2 mm away from the bulkheads and
steering post to lower the CG?. I am thinking about that for quite a while now...

I think that would be such a small amount of weight it would not matter at all.

from the reading i have done that mod is not worth the trouble, and will not give you much of a change. however if you dropped the middle layshaft by about 2-2.5mm that would be the change to make.

The car works just fine like it is...One of the selling points for me was the high top deck on the car so that I could fit my LIPO with a weight below it. The car is very capable, and a lower CG I don't think will make a great difference. You might want to ask Bob how a lower CG will affect the overall design before you go cutting into bulkeds.

Bob said when he was bulding the car that the higher cg helps the car not tweak or hold its tweak.
