i use the mamba max in my tc5 and its great the belts handle everything and very smooth high conering, car just wants to fly.

i also use the mamba max esc with a 3.5 motor and its insane a little cogging but i use cheapo packs when I'm bashing but I'm sure any brushless system is best used with lipo but I'm not a lipo guy.

i could send pics via email if you wana see my setup my tc5

DO the belts hold up pretty good on the asphalt?
I heard the TC5R is more for mod and not 13.5> is this rumor true?

Get Rid of the rubber O rings and blue shims on the topdeck, just use the screws nothing else. Or else the car will have way to much flex!

Pre Compres the diff springs! That's nessesary.

And the nut of the differnetial should be put in the plastic holder before you build the diff, that will help you a lot more.

Good Luck

Why would you want to have that one? It's not working, and way to loose.
No one runs it here because it doesn't work as a spool.

Just get a JAAD spool, or the original TC5 Spool and run that one high, to spare the blades.

For 64P, which robinson spur gears do I get? Are they all universal? Are there any specific ones for the TC5?

I've had the opposite experience. The orings especially in the rear part of the top deck help with grip tremendously. Im running a plastic spool with sandpaper and its been great. Very light so I get lots of punch. Just need to tighten it every once and awhile.

What would be a good starting point with the gears for this car.
I'll be using a LRP 4.5 BL motor.
The track is reasonably small, but it definitely won't be the only track i race at.
I just need a starting point in gearing so i can tune and change gearing setups from there.
Just a starting point would be good.
Thanks.

You can place the diff with Cam Holder B High or Low. My Teammate noticed that when running it high the blade's stay more in tact. because of the line of the CVD's.

Putting your Diff (or spool) high wil affect on the set-up. Running Both Diff's High wil make the car have more roll, And putting the front low, and rear high will give more steering.

Greetings

When running 27t foam on carpet what is a good gear ratio? The track is quite small with plenty of turns. Also, what pinion gears should I buy, new the to the TC5 so I have no idea?

For a small outdoor asphalt track with rubber tires 10.0 FDR is a good starting point. For med size, start around 9.75, and large, 9.3 FDR

It has the "spool" option for the front diff. Which is basically the slipper spool kit, part #31174.
