MmMmmm very tasty i must say.

Yeah blue bulkheads would look sweet. I used to have a B4 and loved it and with a change of cars for me at the end of the year (christams) this may be a contender

I don't want to start any flaming here, but... AE build quality? Over Xray??
(yes, I have owned both AE and Xray, along with other brands)

Blue parts would be nice, as long as it isn't Tamiya blue

before you start flamein on AE, look at the 12th scale game. the overall design of one hasent change in at LEAST 5 years. uh oh they all look the same! but they all kick ass and they ALL work.

Why is it when you think of a belt drive car you think of a lay out such as Xray? Is there no other way to lay it out? I bet all of these other companies all have Xrays laying on their desk as they are design'n.

This whole argument of "it looks like car X" is getting really old. It's been said about 99% of the cars that have come out in the past several years. How many times do we have to hear it?

It looks like a winner.

The rest of you trying to judge a car's performance by what you see in a few pictures need to hurry up and move out of your mom's basement. Races are won on the track, and probably not by guys like you.

Kudos to Associated for analyzing the market, realizing where the demand is and what's winning, trying to improve upon it and delivering it to their customers. If the car is anywhere near the build quality and performance of everybody's beloved, precious XRay, you're going to sell about 8 billion of them in the US to people tired of paying for new kits every 8 months, and constantly fighting to pay too much for parts.

Look here fella, I've worked in R&D for the past 16yrs. I've been in charge a major design changes to the auto ind. I have been taught to be creative and come up with FRESH designs not a copy cat design we have all been used to looking at for years.

I've read back on this page and see that you are indeed a real ass kisser and would strip your pink little panties to have the chance to have this new little pos. To be honest I'm not even into the whole racing thing, I just love to build and rebuild these cars. It keeps my mind fresh for the next task at my 9-5.

I have seen the car up close. Regardless of the belt configuration or the alum. bulkheads, the reason why it resembles the XRay are its hinge pin holders. Rather than using hinge pin braces like everyone else, AE is using the hinge pin holder attached to the bulkhead and not to the chassis. So far I have only seen this design on the XRay. Corally uses the same concept also but the one used by AE most resembles that of the XRay.

As for the expected build quality of this car, that would remain to be seen whether AE decides to outsource from offshore suppliers or domestic and also the expected sale price of the new car. If you want quality, expect to pay for it.

Look where that got them!

AE was a little out side the box with the TC3 and at that time there was no better car. It takes years of R&D to make a good car. So why not take some things from other cars that work and make it better?
