I heard from my brothers' uncles' cousin that it was already out. Guess it would be my cousin too? lol.

Only a rumor though.

There's a reason AE calls their in-process projects Area 51. The designers and racers for them are all aliens. The car is actually being manufactured on another planet. I've intercepted the signals that the kits are done, they are just being shipped to Earth, takes some time I hear.

Craig,

Good Luck this weekend, hope you are wheeling the new ride and can take the title home for AE.

Thanks

Craig Drescher was kind enough to allow me to have a look at his prototype last weekend and I must say it looked really good.

The chassis and bulkheads looked like they could be from a production car - i.e. well finished. Whilst the wishbones were milled from white delrin. The only parts that looked to be the same as the TC4 were the rear hubs. The front hubs were the same as the TC4 - still obviously pre-production, but they had a small carbon plate epoxied to them to increase steering throw presumably. The steering assembly looked really interesting, and seemed like it would produce a lot less slop than the TC4 rack.

All I can say though, is that it looked and went pretty well too!

So does this new car mean they have given up on the FT tC4 and shaft drive cars? I have to say I would be pretty disappointed if that were the case. I would think this could possibly be a bad move for Associated at least in the short run. I mean if I'm gonna go out and get a belt car it's gonna be a corally or xray. So if they give up on the FT TC4 they could easily lose my loyalty.

porschejim911,

I think they will still support the TC4 and also offer the new belt car as well. They have tried to clear some stock of the FT TC4 kits.If I know AE they will still be able to provide great customer service for the car that jump started them into the TC world.

They will probably still support the TC4, but won't all the Team drivers jump to the new car? That would make me start wondering if I'm still driving the right car. So far I love my FT TC4, but if the Team drivers abandon it I'm gonna get real curious about the other top cars out there. Then if the new belt car doesn't win like every big race it will be pretty easy to jump to a Corally or Xray.

What if it ends up that some drivers might like to use different cars on different surfaces?
