c money

would you be running foam or rubber. Also the 008 won the cleveland indoor champs in mod. The tc5 has yet to win a major national title. However the tc5 has dominated most all the rubber tire asphalt races and has won some major races in europe on the the carpet with rubber tires. However with only 1 dedicated mod foam driver ( Keven Herbert ) you also have to look at the numbers games. As xray and corally both have very large and talented teams at this point.

Most import when selecting a car would be do guys you race with run either of the cars you are looking at getting ? Also what parts are available at the places you are racing at. And finally price comes into play. With the TC5 being cheaper not only in kit price but also parts prices. But in the end i would recommed buying the car that is most popular in the hobby shop parts wall and on the track at the places you race. Especially if you are new to touring cars or rc in general.

well I will be running on carpet, with probably rubber tires. But you never know I could switch it up if I had too. Both the x ray and tc5 get used at the track I will race at and the shop carries both parts in the same amount. I have heard of some things wrong with the tc5 but what about the xray?

I believe the 008 has just been released here in the U.S. so it is to early to tell at this time. At least it is for me anyway.

The TC5 has some things that can hurt the performance with foam tires but for rubber tire racing I have been happy with my car ever since I got it.

if you go back a few pages there were some questions possed as to the "flaws" of the tc5 and i talked about each one. And as it stands they have all been corrected, and public release of the harder arms and castor blocks is comming in the future.

If you are going to run rubber tire on carpet i would recommend TC5 . Kraig and a few others have gotten very competitive running these cars and with setups they found on there own.

Who cares. Buy a TC5.

I did not know there was a battery strap problem??? But I use tape anyway

If you use Tc4 caster blocks, you have to ream them out with a 2.5 mm drill bit if I remember right. I have the bit, but I don't remember the exact size. Just measure your hinge pin

I use a battery strap and I don't have a problem. You just have to take care in how you put it together and when you put it on.

For myself, if I could do it over again, I would just use a screw and a washer to secure it. The way with the thumb nuts (or whatever you call them) is made in such a way that if you are not paying attention when tightening them down you could tweak the chassis. So pay close attention to that step or use tape like Rob does...both ways are fast.

Yes it is a 2.5mm drill bit or reamer to make the TC4 blocks work.
