I've also heard that you have to put a small knotch in the top plate so your wrentch can tighten the pinion. Any of ya guys that have been running 64 pitch confirm this or is there a better way?
Yeah, just take the motor mount plate off of the bulkhead and put the pinion on while the motor is mounted to the plate. It's 3 screws, and 100% less of a pain in the ass.

If the best driver in the world is not racing under the same conditions as you are, it is usually of little help. Brandon just said he had problems because he practiced with different tires and compound.

There's actually a notch in the bottom of the chassis already, just for getting at your pinion screw.

Brandon thanks for the setup and answers about the tires and sauce...

I knew there was no way everyone was running a setup from back in the prototype days.

I hope they'll be available soon. My front belt is still too tight. It's not terrible but I'd prefer it to be looser.

turn the car upside down and there's a little slot there to tighten the pinion. No need to take off a motor plate.

What gearing should I start out with to run a brushed stock motor? I ran a 112 spur and 22 pinion in my mi2ec at our track and ran out of gear 1/8 into the straight while others blew past.

And good luck seeing the set screw flat on the shaft thru that small slot once its moved getting the pinion past the belt....I opt for the convenience method...I finish the job a bit calmer that way.

Well, to tell ya the truth, the set-up could be used at ALOT of places and be close. Not that it's perfect for everyones liking, but a great place to tell anyone to start.

For example, when the RC10GT was dominant, there was "the one" setup that most guys used, sure people would tweak little things to their liking, but for the most part, it was almost right everywhere. Rick probably figures that it's the best thing to tell anyone to get them CLOSE for whatever type of condition they race on.

Set-ups coming once I figure this mess out with resizing my scans to upload.

Set-up for RP30's using Paragon on tight carpet track 100x36.

Sorry, the scan unclear, it looks like the weight was on L side but it was on R side. Using string to lift up on holes in tower the car was light on battery side.

It has nothing to do with the hole in the chassis. I hate trying to get the gear past the belt, especially if it's a big pinion.
