Production a ways off and x-mas are very different statements. I'd like to hear something more specific as a target from AE. I'm getting out till fall, if it's due this year then I'll get rid of my TC4 (already listed here) or if not, I'll keep it.

There's no way to know or guess it. They probably don't even have a single part that THEY know for sure will be production. So how is anyone supposed to estimate when this car will be ready? It could be 3 months, it could be 18 months. How long did it take Losi when they were testing the JRXS to them even admitting there were prototypes of it, to the actual release of the car? Well over a year? You can't estimate things like that when they're in such a prototype phase that they don't even know what the final design will be.

AE knows what their product lifecycle is...they have to have targets and timelines for this project. I seriously doubt they start a project like this saying, we'd like to have a new product "eventually."

There's a date out there, even if it isn't an accurate one, there's a date.

I remember when the TC3 was in Prototype stages..and it took a year for it to be released.

Even if there's "a date out there" they're not going to release anything until they're sure they can hit it.

I wouldn't expect the car by Dec. That seems very unrealistsic. Besides, with the recent history of several other cars, cough**JRXS**cough, why would you want to rush things?

Can I just ask why is everyone so excited? Ok AE have been diehard shaft drive folk for years and they are now making the move to hopefully keep up with the rest of the field......

It's bound to be the same layout as all the others.....the 415, the cyclone, the T2, the BD......overhanging motor, twin belt etc etc.....or will they come up with something revolutionary?

But good luck to them and their drivers

Alan Bickerstaff did really well at the Scottish GP with his TC4FT with a Novak 4.5R. He actually beat a checkpoint 7x1 powered team Yokomo driver with his BD in Leg 2 of the A-mains.....it was very quick.

You don't have to go with a totally different layout to make significant changes. Suspension and steering geometry are much more subtle but more critical to get right than chassis layout.

to be completely honest, i think the change to a belt is to keep all the of people that "think" a belt car is better than a shaft car happy. after all, they have to sell cars, and if the "perception" is that belts are better and that is what is selling, that is what they have to make... now all that said, i personally just want to see a move away from the composite tub, and imprecise molded peices. i'd also like to see a far more durable car.. shaft or not... the pro4 is still a very very capable shaft car as is the yokomo sd... and it was all of a year ago that the FT tc4 won the reedy, beating a field of belt cars...

if its "just a prototype" or "far from production" then whats wrong with letting people see some stuff, like Bungie is doing for halo3, let little tid-bits out every week, and some shots, but the shots show some new stuff, but the "crapy" new stuff

if you keep up with the halo series you might understand'

this way there is a HUGE hype for the car, Halo2 is the best selling video game out there, and it got the record from pre-sales alone,
