I want to run mod but Marin isn't mod friendly. I did have practice on short bumpy tracks at the nats The last time there my car struggled a bit but I'm sure it will be different the next time around. The bumps scare me though....I got some air off the bump on the straight that cost me 3rd place. I just want to have fun and most guys might be running 19 turn so I'll have fun in the biggest class. I may not run the entire series though. We'll see. Car should be here today You get yours finished yet? Time to make Lex work for his wins

I'm getting the itch for a new car and I am looking at the TC5 because of the price and parts availability. Also I like the fact that it will be around in 2 years and not replaced in 6 months...I assume. BUT I love my TA05 I drive now because it is almost bullet proof and it's very easy to drive, and since it doesn't break parts have never been a problem. I need to know how well the TC5 holds up to the occasional board clipping. Also, I will be driving stock rubber, is there a oneway available for this? I have seen a couple of these at the track so some setup advice should be easy to come by.

Hi,

Basically i might venture into the dark side, as i have run schumachers all my years of racing, have an mi3 at the moment, but i now fancy trying something else.

Whats needed for the tc5 for outdoor rubber, do you need the thinner chassis and top deck etc, as i dont always just run on carpet?

It doesnt come with a spool either does it, is it only a diff.

Hey Charlie. Like someone else said, we are coming out with Aluminum diffs as an upgrade to the plastic diffs. We hope to have them out in less than a month along with the aluminum spool.

Have you tried all the "tricks" that are posted on the thread? I've found that the #1 mistake when building the diff is that it isn't tightened enough. Usually this is due to the lock nut not being properly seated in the t-nut. Also, the diff is not a "set it and forget it" type system. Be sure to check the tension at least every other pack and don't be afraid to tighten it up.

I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but Cavalieri ran the same diff from A2 of the Reedy Race, all through practice, qualifying and the mains at the Nats. I don't know if I got "lucky" when I built it or what, but it has at least 25 packs on it with a 7 turn.

I know that I'm not a big name, just an average racer, but OH MY GOD, this car is GREAT. The manual has something to be desired but I know that AE knows about this and is working it. But like EA told me, once you get this car on the track you will forget about the little things. He was not joking... If you have an chance to try would out, please do... Take a friends for a ride... WOW is all I can say....

I haven't had any problems so far running a C027, but I'm holding my breath. What do I do if it does melt down, there aren't any replacement parts available to fix it?
