I ended up making the stock diff into a spool. Works fine. Just remove the balls and ca some header card onto the rings.

I'm going to run like that until the spool is available.

These are all high wear items and should have been stocked BEFORE they began selling kits! Time for Associated to quit selling kits and START selling parts if there is a shortage.

If anyone can find any of these parts listed could you mention where please.
I walked the parts aisle today and GUARANTEE there were steering blocks, diff outdrives, belts and most of the other items to rebuild the car. As a last option, you may try contacting Associated to purchase parts directly from them. I don't encourage this since we aren't really set up for a retail outlet and it doesn't do your LHS any favors, but the option is out there...

We are receiving parts weekly to keep up with demand and hope to have the spool, one-way and alum. diffs available very soon. As with the first run of any part, it takes a few samples to get the fit just right...hope everyone understands.

That is real good news! I have the remainder of what I hope to need on backorder, and have found a little here and a little there to get to where I'm at. But front end damage will shut me down and this sedan is too fun to be without. Didn't like to use the huffy dude...but wanted to convey support is important...well...you know. Rock and ..I'll continue to drive her hard.

Thanks for the update.

tried the o-ring trick and it did help a lot.

Default Asphalt set up

Hi Guy's, Im looking for some assistance.

I will shortly be making the move from 27T Stock to Modified and with the new class I may look at changing car's as well. As good as the Scythe is, and it is fricken awesome, a change is as good as a holiday as they say, so my questios are............................

If I were to buy a TC5 what other items would I need to buy to make it competitive on asphalt/rubber tyre tracks?

Does it come with 2 diffs as I understand most asphalt mod racers use 2 diffs or does it come with a spool and if so will it handle modified?

How is the strength of the care for impacts and crashes, does it hold up well?

And finally what would be the basic spares and tuning options I should look at purchasing with the car?

Thanks for you help

Cheers
Aaron

Great news Aaron!!! Good work!!!

Must haves:
gold, blue and silver AE springs

Non-essential items:
shock piston kit
itf top deck and/or chassis
rear hubs (0.5 and 1.0 degree)

The car comes wth 2 diffs only. The spool will be available soon. But in the mean time, you can make a spool out of the standard diff by taking out the diff balls and replacing them with dremel sanding pads.

How is the strength of the care for impacts and crashes, does it hold up well?
To date, I have not broken, bent or damaged any parts racing mod over the past 6 weeks.

And finally what would be the basic spares and tuning options I should look at purchasing with the car?
As per the non-essential items
basic spares: arms, drivetrain parts, the usual.

Thanks for you help

Cheers
Aaron
Hope this helps.

- Leonard.

Thanks heaps Leonard for your help mate.

It looks like a great car and after all, I started with an AE (NTC3) and when I was a kid I had one of the first RC10 buggies, from then on I have been a fan of AE but have drifted away over the last 2 years, so it would be good to change classes and go back to AE for the new class.

Ill see you at the Winter Champs in 2 weeks and when your not busy, maybe I could get a close up eyeball of your TC5.

Thanks again

Cheers

Default Alum diff

There is a Part no. for the Alum DIff Kit. It does not say or can I find what does it include. Retail says $59.00, Just curious what it includes(Bearing's diff balls)? Or do you just need the outdrives to change them over to Alum?

Thanks.

Brent...your a man of your words. The steering blocks, castors, and a couple other parts just became available. Still not finding belts, but I'll keep checking every couple of days.

On a side note, I was at SIR on Tuesday and saw several Team AE drivers show up late in the day. They looked to have just gotten into town and stopped in to check out the track. They (SIR) are hosting the ROAR NATS this weekend and I plan to stop in and catch some of the action. Anyone in particilar I should keep an eye on and mooch a couple tips from??

Also...does anyone have the part number for the upgraded alum. outdrives?? TIA.
