What difference does the upgrade to the spool setup make for asphalt?

All of the above items will turn the TC5 into a 'weapon' on asphalt with rubber tires. The most important items are the chassis/topdeck and spool.

Hope this helps,

That sucks. You have to get a new chassis and top deck for asphalt. What a wa$te. Springs, sway bars I can understand...

I think the car will be very competitive just the way it is out of the box. I'm sure Associate put a lot of time and effort into the final release of the car without having to spend a ton of money on upgrades to be competitive. Half of winning is the driver, not 100% car.

I'm putting mine together right from the kit with a Co27 Monster stock PRO or a Chameleon PRO motor and see how it does against all those Xrays. Unless your a fantastic racer and are going to be racing a bunch of factory team guys the added expense of an ITF chassis could be spent on other things like lots of good tires at $35 a set.

well if having to get another chassis is true then that does suck and you would spending the money of a 007 for the eu spec to make a eu spec tc5

you guys are being completely rediculous about this chassis subject. If it were sold the other way around you would complain the chassis wasnt good for carpet so......

I am sure the lower deck isnt too stiff for outdoor. So just modify your top deck or buy the other top deck when it comes out.

Buy an xray if you want an xray. Enough said.

true but if you consider that the 007 chassis is not very rigid either.they have the european kit that comes with more asphalt based parts but the US spec chassis is plenty flexible for asphalt.not to mention that the 007 carpet spec chassis comes with a substantial bow in it,i would be pretty upset about that.for the price i think the AE car is gonna be kick ass.it is performing as good as anything else on the market and comes in with a much lower price tag.you spend a little extra on it for running both surfaces you will be ahead of where you would be with a 007.

You mean like the Type-R? It's not as cheap as a TC5 but you know what I mean. Same chassis for both ashpalt and rug.
If I didn't own one. I'd think about a TC5. Hope it does well for you guys.

Just a quick Reedy Race report...

Kyle Skidmore has TQed two of three modified rounds and is asured at least a front row start. Kiyo Suzuki TQed the other round and is Kyle's only threat for the top qualifying position.

I believe Brent Thielke, Ryan Cavalieri, Tommi Torikka, and Christer Andersson are also qualifed in the A main going into the last round.

And not a true representation of the Invitational standings, the three lowest scores (all scores counting) after day one in Invitational class belong to:

1. Craig Dresscher
2. Juho Levanen
3. Rick Hohwart
